MPUSD to discuss potential employee housing development at Tuesday meeting
DEL REY OAKS, Calif. (KION) The Monterey Peninsula Unified School District is set to discuss a potential employee housing development at its board meeting Tuesday night.
The district said housing costs and not enough supply have made it difficult to recruit and retain teachers and staff.
At the meeting, the board will discuss moving forward with a housing model and the possibility of placing a housing bond on the November ballot.
The meeting is set to start at 5:30 p.m., and it will be streaming live here.
The last proposal presented by MidPen Housing and Habitat for Humanity Monterey in January included proposed development sites, financing, housing laws and next steps.
