USGS reports 5.8 magnitude earthquake near Lone Pine

LONE PINE, Calif. (KION) The USGS reports a 5.8 magnitude SSE of Lone Pine in Tulare County Wednesday morning.

The epicenter is located between Sequoia National Park and Death Valley National Park.

It happened at about 10:40 a.m. in the area east of Fresno, and it was followed by 3.6 and 3.1 magnitude earthquakes in the same area.

USGS reports that a light shake may have been felt in southern Monterey County.
