Morgan Hill police respond to “horrific” crime scene, arrest man accused of stabbing parents
MORGAN HILL, Calif. (KION) Morgan Hill police are investigating a stabbing that killed a woman and left a man with life-threatening injuries, and the suspect is their son.
Just before 1 p.m. Sunday, Morgan Hill police responded to the 16000 block of Rustling Oak Court for a report of a stabbing and found a "horrific" crime scene.
Officers said the male suspect, identified as 25-year-old Dane Cleeton, was near the front of a home covered in blood and demanding officers shoot him. On the porch, officers saw a woman who was unresponsive with multiple stab wounds.
Police said the officers de-escalated the situation and were able to arrest Cleeton without using force.
Officers also found a man across the street with multiple stab wounds. The man was flown to a hospital and had life-threatening injuries to his head and upper torso. The woman died at the scene.
While investigating, detectives said they found that there was a disturbance between the homeowners and their son, and he is suspected of stabbing them during the disturbance.
Cleeton was arrested on murder, attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon charges and booked into the Santa Clara County Jail.
