Man accused of shooting woman, teen girl in Watsonville arrested

WATSONVILLE, Calif. (KION)

UPDATE 6/16/2020 12 p.m. A man has been arrested in connection to a Watsonville shooting that left a woman and teen girl in critical condition.

The suspect, 35-year-old Raul Morales, was arrested in Los Banos and charged with attempted murder.

Police say it appears that there was a dispute between Morales and his girlfriend's family on Cereze Street before the shooting Sunday night.

The woman and the teen are being treated at an out-of-county trauma center.

Morales was arrested within 8 hours of the shooting with the help of the Merced County Sheriff's Office and Los Banos police. He was booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail.

It happened on Cereze Street Sunday night.

Police say a suspect is in custody and the two victims were taken to the hospital.
