Three suspects, one a juvenile, arrested in connection to Salinas armed robbery

SALINAS, Calif. (KION) Salinas police say three suspects, one of them a juvenile, have been arrested in connection to an armed robbery outside a fast food restaurant.

Police said officers responded to a report of an armed robbery in the parking lot of the restaurant at Sanborn Road and McGowen Drive.

When they got there, they found the victim had been beaten up and pistol whipped. His head was also bleeding.

The victim was taken to Natividad for treatment, and he told police that he was attacked and robbed by three people wearing black hooded sweatshirts. He said they took his wallet and backpack before running toward McGowan Circle.

Police searched the area and said they found three people matching the description in a nearby vehicle. Officers detained them and said they were arrested when they were positively identified.

Officers found a handgun and evidence that they also said linked the suspects to the robbery.

19-year-old Xavier Jimenez of Soledad, 19-year-old Richard Andrew Flores from Gonzales and a 16-year-old juvenile from Gonzales were taken to the county jail and juvenile hall. They are facing robbery, conspiracy and possession of a concealed gun charges.
