Whale freed from fishing gear north of Moss Landing

MONTEREY BAY, Calif. (KION) The U.S. Coast Guard Station Monterey and NOAA freed an entangled whale Monday.

The Coast Guard said it was found tangled in fishing gear north of Moss Landing.

The teams said they were able to safely remove the gear and free the whale.
