Salinas Police: Man arrested for allegedly stealing two cars, leading officers on chase

SALINAS, Calif. (KION) A driver was arrested in Salinas when police said he stole two vehicles and led officers on a chase.

At around 2:45 p.m. Thursday, California Highway Patrol officers said they were behind a vehicle that was stolen recently near East Market and Griffin streets and asked for help from police.

Officers said the driver led them on a chase in the area before trying to run away.

Police said the driver stole another vehicle and again led officers on a chase near East Market Street and Madeira Avenue. He tried to run again, but police said he was caught in the 500 block of Roosevelt Street.

The driver, 50-year-old David Singh, was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of a stolen vehicle, two counts of felony evading and two counts of resisting arrest.
