Overpass on Highway 101 at Oak reopened after fire

GREENFIELD, Calif. (KION)

UPDATE 4/15/2020 11:30 a.m. Greenfield police said an overpass on Highway 101 at Oak Avenue has reopened.

Earlier Wednesday morning, there was a fire under the bridge, but it was put out by the Greenfield Fire Department.

Caltrans said the bridge did not have any structural damage as a result of the fire, but crews will be on scene clearing debris.

The cause of the fire is still unknown. Anyone with information is asked to call King City CHP at 831-385-3216.

PREVIOUS STORY: CHP officials tell us Greenfield Police have closed down the overpass on 101 at Oak as first responders contain a fire.

When the caller dialed 911, they said the fire began underneath the bridge.

The fire began burning wood supports for the bridge.

Fire officials, police and Caltrans are all on scene.
