Seven out-of-towners cited for violating shelter-in-place order in Santa Cruz

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (KION) Seven people were cited $1,000 each by the Santa Cruz Police Department for disobeying the shelter-in-place order.

Police busted the group, which they said was visiting from Fremont, at the 7-Eleven on Ocean Street.

The group racked up $7,000 in fines in total.

The department wants people to know that if you are not from Santa Cruz and you put the community at risk, you will get a ticket.
