Sea lion found with gunshot wound near Santa Cruz gets second chance at life

CHICAGO (KION) The Shedd Aquarium took a moment to demonstrate how its animals are being cared for with a sea lion who got a second chance at life.

Cruz was found near Santa Cruz with gunshot wounds to his face and eyes.

He is blind now but doing well at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago.

Right now, the aquarium is closed to the public because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but caretakers still go every day to make sure the animals stay healthy.
