WATSONVILLE, Calif. (KION) Watsonville Police say a report of an armed robbery at a local motel has led to the arrest of a prostitute, a gunman and the recovery of two loaded firearms.

Sunday night, officers responded to the 100 block of Silver Leaf Drive, where they found a 23-year-old man.

Officers say after speaking with the man, they found out he had solicited sexual services online. When he arrived at the motel, he met with 19-year-old Tianna Mitchell. Once they were inside the motel room, he did not want to pay the amount he originally agreed on.

Mitchell then stepped out of the room to make a phone call. Police say moments later, Jose Aranda walked into the room and pulled a gun on the 23-year-old. The victim left the room and called the police.

During the investigation, officers say they recovered two loaded firearms. Mitchell was arrested on prostitution charges and conspiracy to commit a crime.

Aranda, was arrested on several gun charges. Both suspects are from the Sacramento area and claimed they were staying at the motel while they sheltered in place.
