Man arrested, charged with murder after Live Oak stabbing
LIVE OAK, Calif. (KION) A man has been arrested in connection to a deadly stabbing in Live Oak over the weekend.
On Saturday at about 8:50 p.m., deputies with the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a stabbing at a home in the 800 block of Brommer Street.
When deputies got to the home, they detained the suspect, 35-year-old Leif Ames in front of the home. The victim, 35-year-old Hubert Cross, was inside with multiple stab wounds.
Deputies tried to save Cross, but he died of his injuries.
The Sheriff's Office said the victim and suspect knew each other. Ames was arrested and charged with murder. He is being held on $750,000 bail.
