UPDATE 3/18/20 7:00 p.m. - The heavy police presence on Main Street in Salinas Wednesday is tied to an attempted murder investigation, according to Salinas Police.

Earlier on Wednesday, detectives arrested Antonio Terrones, 23, for a March 8 shooting near Paloma Avenue and East Market Street. After Terrones was taken into custody without incident, detectives and SWAT "served an associated search warrant" in the 100 block of Main Street. Police say they found multiple firearms and arrested Michael Gose, 26.

Gose is booked for violation of Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS).

Terrones is facing attempted murder, street terrorism (gang crime) and parole violation. The attempted murder charge is for an incident on March 8th.

On March 8, police say they responded to a ShotSpotter activation near Paloma Avenue and East Market Street and found multiple bullet casings. A 17-year-old and 20-year-old told the officers on scene that they were sitting in a car when another vehicle drove up, with a man inside asking "do you bang?" After the victims reportedly said "no," the suspect got out of the car and shot at the victims multiple times. No one was injured.
