San Benito County issues shelter in place, confirms new case

SAN BENITO COUNTY, Calif. (KION) San Benito County Officials announced that they are issuing a shelter in place order, following several Bay Area counties and Santa Cruz County.

Residents will be allowed to leave their homes for essential services and activities. It will extend from midnight tonight to April 7. Essential services, such as doctor's offices and grocery stores, will remain open.

There is also a second active case that was identified Tuesday morning. Officials said the person is a 47-year-old Hollister resident who contracted the disease while working in Santa Clara County. That person is currently in isolation.
