Santa Catalina student chosen to be part of Disney Dreamers Academy
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (KION) A student from Santa Catalina School in Monterey has been chosen to receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Walt Disney World to take part in the four day Disney Dreamers Academy.
Out of thousands of applicants, Nicole Munoz was chosen to be one of the 100 students participating.
According to her profile, 15-year-old Nicole plays for the school's golf team. She says she also volunteers at an area hospital and hopes to be a nurse one day.
"I also have a passion for singing, which I hope to one day use in order to spread my message-- that we must take charge of every opportunity that we are blessed with in life and embrace the precious time that we have been given because every person has within themselves the ability to change the world and make their dreams a reality," she said in her profile.
During the four day event, dreamers get to hear inspirational talks from celebrities, industry experts and community leaders; take part in career activities and get networking and interviewing experience. This year, it will take place between March 12 and March 15.
