The Science of Slingshots
SALINAS, Calif. (KION) As we learn about the projectile attacker, local window experts are explaining exactly what happens upon impact with a projectile from a slingshot.
Workers at C & J Auto Collision Parts & Glass says they saw a few cars who were targeted during the series of projectile attacks.
Auto body experts say the glass used for car windows are tempered so they shatter upon impact.
They also say newer cars are being made with a laminate film in-between two glass panels to prevent dangerous glass shatters.
We will have more on the physics of how the slingshot works coming up tonight on KION News Channel 5/46.
