Santa Cruz County family continues search for missing puppy
SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (KION) Another day brings another search.
Since mid-December, Aracelly Bibl has received countless calls from people hoping to have seen her family’s 16-week-old puppy, “Pasha.”
The rare Bohemian German Shepard was last seen while on a walk at Henry Cowell State Park. “We didn’t even celebrate Christmas, or my husband’s birthday, or my birthday. We’ve just been searching for Pasha for three-and-a-half weeks,” said Bibl.
Community members, touched by the Bibl family’s story, have joined in their search for Pasha. Sunday, the group visited a homeless camp in Santa Cruz with the hopes that someone may know where Pasha is.
"My 12 year old is very upset. Out of all of our kids, he is definitely the one that bonded with Pasha the most,” said Bibl.
In February, the Bibl family faced, yet, another tragedy. Their 18-year-old son, Joseph, died from bacterial meningitis while away at college. "The fact that he lost his brother 11 months ago, and now the puppy. It's hard for him. It's hard for all of us,” said Bibl.
Despite all, the family remains selfless. While searching for Pasha, Bibl said they have met people that need support, as well. "You could just tell that the folks out there would like warm socks and some food. We figured we'd come back and bring out food while we're searching for Pasha,” said Bibl.
Anyone who wishes to help or has information, can call 831-461-5909 or contact authorities.
The family is offering a $3,000 reward for the return of their puppy.
