Search for car caught on video plunging off cliff suspended
PACIFICA, Calif. (AP and KION) Officials suspended the search for a vehicle that went off a Northern California cliff because of rough sea conditions.
California Highway Patrol Officer Bert Diaz says crews searched for the dark SUV that was caught Monday speeding along the shoulder of Highway 1 near Gray Whale Cove before driving off the cliff. He says their search by air, land and sea was suspended because of bad weather.
So far search crews have only found tire tracks and car parts.
A motorist reported seeing the SUV go off a cliff on Highway 1. His dash camera captured the moment the vehicle goes over the edge of the 40-foot cliff at full speed.
