No arrests made yet for Tushar Atre’s murder on reward deadline
SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (KION) UPDATE 12/30/19 10:49 p.m. The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office says they are looking for three male suspects in the murder of 50-year-old Santa Cruz tech executive Tushar Atre, who authorities say was kidnapped from his Pleasure Point home in early October.
The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office released surveillance video last month of three people who are believed to be involved.
The Sheriff’s Office now believes all three suspects are male.
The suspects have not been identified yet and no arrests have been made, but the sheriff’s office hopes someone will recognize the people in this video.
“Initially people might have been hesitant to come forward, you know, scared for retaliation or something like that but we want to assure them that they can stay anonymous for these tips,” said sheriff's office spokesperson Ashley Keehn.
The sheriff’s office is also asking the public to alert them if someone they know may have had a suspicious injury in October.
They said suspects can often get injured in cases like this.
“If you have someone that got some sort of injury around that time, around that october 1st date couldn’t really explain or had a story that you might have thought was just off or suspicious, then please let us know."

Monday is the reward deadline for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those involved with the kidnapping and murder of Tushar Atre.
The Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office has offered a $150,000 reward gathered from private donations, but so far no arrests have been made.
Investigators are looking for three male suspects seen in a video released by the Sheriff's Office. Detectives said suspects are sometimes injured if there is a struggle, so they ask that people be on the look out for anyone with unexplained injuries from around that time.
The Sheriff's Office said 50-year-old Atre was kidnaped from his Pleasure Point home "during a crime" the morning of Oct. 1. Atre was later found dead on a property he owned. A pathologist said he died of a gunshot wound and confirmed that it was murder.
Anyone with information is asked to call Sgt. Ainsworth at 831-454-7635.
