MONTEREY, Calif. (KION) The Monterey Bay Aquarium announced that there are two new additions to the African penguin colony.

The first chick hatched on Dec. 9, and as of its last check-up, it weighed 292 grams. The second hatched on Dec. 13 and weighs 123 grams.

The aquarium said it does not know the sex of the chicks yet.

If you want to see the chicks, they are on exhibit with their parents in the Splash Zone gallery. Once they can move around more, the aquarium said they will be taken behind the scenes for a few months to learn how to be a penguin.
