SALINAS, Calif. (KION) A Salinas woman was found guilty of several charges after her teen children infiltrated a closed pool and she threatened the man who tried to call 911.

In January, 33-year-old Maria Delgado's teen children and their friends went to the pool at the Sheridan Park apartments. It was closed for the season and locked with a padlock, but they went in and made loud noises that got the attention of the maintenance supervisor.

The supervisor, who lived at the apartment complex, went up to one of the teens and asked them to leave, but they refused to get out and yelled profanities and threats. When the supervisor told them he was calling 911, they went to tell Delgado.

Delgado went up to the man and accused him of kicking her children out of the pool, and he told her he was calling 911. At that point, she started threatening to kill him and told him she was a Norteno. She demanded that the supervisor tell her where he and his family lived and followed him back to his apartment. When she got there, she ran into the home and confronted the supervisor's wife, demanding that he stop calling police.

Investigators said Delgado took the phone out of the supervisors hand and spoke to the dispatcher to try to prevent law enforcement from responding.

At trial, she denied going in the man's house and making threats. She said she was upset and was trying to protect her children. The jury found her guilty of one count of residential burglary, two counts of making criminal threats and witness intimidation.

Delgado is facing more than eight years in prison when she is sentenced next month.
