Rain floods some Salinas streets
Rain brought flooding to Terven Avenue and Airport Boulevard in Salinas Sunday afternoon.
Inches of water prevented some cars from driving through, but others braved the flooded street and made it through.
"I just try to be careful when I drive. That's the main thing. Some people tend to forget how to drive when the weather starts coming down. But that's the main thing for me … driving safe in the rain," said driver Julian Arias.
The Monterey County Office of Emergency Services recommends that drivers avoid flooded areas, entirely.
They said even six inches of water can cause a car to lose control.
In the case that your car becomes trapped, stay inside the vehicle and call for help.
