Reward for information about projectile incidents now at at least $14,000
PRUNEDALE, Calif. (KION) More community members are adding to the reward for information leading to the identity and arrest of those responsible for projectiles hitting cars near Prunedale and Aromas.
The Monterey County Sheriff's Office said a member of the community pledged $5,500, bringing the total reward amount up to at least $14,000.
The Sheriff's Office said it is not collecting money, but understands that the community wants to help.
On Thursday, the CHP told KION that the reward had been increased by $4,000, bringing the total to $8,500.
Another projectile incident also happened on Thursday on Highway 101 near Dunbarton Road. A projectile hit the left-rear window of a vehicle, but nobody was hurt.
As of Thursday night, there have been 44 incidents involving projectiles hitting vehicles.
Anyone with information should contact the California Highway Patrol immediately. The Monterey County Sheriff's Office is also assisting with the investigation.
