Animal shelter warns of invisible fences not working during power shutoff

The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter is warning pet owners that invisible fences are not working during the power shutoff.

Scotts Valley police recently found two dogs who were able to get out of their yard when the electric fence stopped working. The dogs were found near Granite Creek Road and South Navarra with collars, but no tags.

The shelter is asking pet owners to have a backup plan to make sure their dogs stay safe.
