Santa Cruz County teacher arrested for sexual conduct with a child
UPDATE 10/24/2019 9:50 a.m. The San Lorenzo Valley Unified School District confirms that Michael Henderson is a computer science teacher at San Lorenzo Valley High School.
Superintendent Laurie Bruton said Henderson started during the 2016/17 school year and that the incident happened at an after-school program not affiliated with the district. She said the program was made up of students from the district.
Bruton said the district will be issuing a statement in response to Henderson’s arrest. He is charged with lewd and lascivious acts against a child under the age of 14.

The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Michael Henderson has been arrested and charged with lewd and lascivious acts against a child under the age of 14.
The Sheriff’s Office would not confirm his profession, but an April 2019 Facebook post from San Lorenzo Valley Unified School District, shared a picture of Henderson as an SLV Computer Science teacher. The staff directory for San Lorenzo Valley High School lists a “Michael Henderson” as a technology teacher.
