Reward offered for information leading to arrest in Pleasure Point man’s kidnapping, homicide
The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office said it is offering a reward for information leading to and arrests and convictions for the kidnapping and murder of Tushar Atre.
The Sheriff’s Office is offering a $25,000 reward paid for by private citizens for information received no later than Nov. 30.
Atre was reportedly kidnapped from his Pleasure Point home in the early morning hours of Oct.1. His body was later found with the vehicle he was last seen in later the same day in the Santa Cruz Mountains. A pathologist confirmed that he died of a gunshot wound and said it was a homicide.
Since then, the Sheriff’s Office has been working to find whoever killed Atre.
“Several people were involved in this murder and someone out there knows who they are. That is a terrible secret to keep,” said Sheriff Jim Hart.
The Sheriff’s Office said it does not believe the suspects are a threat to the public, but no arrests have been made.
