School shooting threat unfounded, according to Greenfield police
Police said that after an investigation into a report of a potential school shooting threat at Greenfield High School, they found that the threat was unfounded.
On Friday officers responded to the school after getting a call about the possible threat. Officers interviewed students and parents, who they said cooperated with the investigation, but found that it was a rumor.
Police said after talking to multiple students, they found out that the rumor started on Snapchat, but there was no credible or direct threat.
As a precaution, police increased their presence at Greenfield High School on Monday.
Police said they take all school violence threats seriously, but ask that parents talk to their children about reporting anything suspicious to an adult or law enforcement instead of re-posting it.
