MST warns of people pretending to be employees to gain personal information

Monterey-Salinas Transit issued a warning about a group of people identifying themselves as MST employees and trying to get personal information.

MST said the people are using lanyards with the MST logo printed on them to identify themselves, but employees can only be identified by agency-issued badges. Lanyards have been given out in the past as promotional items.

MST also said employees do not request personal information from the public, so the public should not provide it to those who ask. If anyone claiming to be an MST employee asks for personal information, you are asked to contact local law enforcement and report the incident.
