Monterey County middle school students find, return lost parrot

The SPCA for Monterey County said a parrot and its owner have been reunited with the help of two middle school students.

Wildlife staff got a call Sunday from a worried pet owner whose Eclectus parrot had managed to escape.

Later, the SPCA said two North Monterey County Middle School students found the bird, which stepped onto an outstretched arm.

The students took the parrot to the office and called the SPCA. The owner was able to confirm the bird was hers and pick him up.
