Police: SWAT serves warrant at Salinas home, finds possible explosive device in bunker
UPDATE 10/8/2019 12:11 p.m. The SWAT team with Salinas police served a search warrant at a home Tuesday morning, and during the search, they said they found what appeared to be an explosive device among other items.
The Violence Suppression Task Force authored the search warrant for the home on the 400 block of Mendocino Drive, but because it was high-risk, the SWAT team served it.
During the search, officers said they found the device in a homemade bunker in the backyard. At that point, officers backed out and called the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office bomb squad. When they arrived, they found that the device was safe.

The suspect, 52-year-old Ray Hall, is a convicted felon and was arrested on numerous gun charges. Another person visiting the home was arrested on warrants out of Monterey County.
