Three people arrested in Salinas on gun and drug charges
Three people are behind bars after Salinas police said they were found with drugs and guns while officers served a search warrant.
The Violence Suppression Task Force with other federal, state and local agencies served the search warrant at the Village North Lagoon apartments, but before they served the search warrant, police said they saw the suspect leave the home and get into a vehicle.
Officers stopped the vehicle and said they found 38-year-old Branden Morrison with a gun in his waistband. K9 Oakley searched the vehicle and alerted officers to a black bag. Inside, officers said they found about a half pound of meth, 16 grams of heroin, two scales, cash and packaging materials.
Officers then served the search warrant at the apartment. Three other people were at the apartment, and police said they found more drugs.
Three people were arrested and booked into the Monterey County Jail on charges that range from being a felon in possession of a gun, drug sales and felony warrants.
