Felton man dies after motorcycle crash on Highway 9

UPDATE 9/24/2019 11:25 a.m. A 66-year-old Felton man died after a motorcycle crash on Highway 9 Tuesday Morning.

Just before 7 a.m., the man was riding a motorcycle southbound on the highway south of Glengarry Road. For unknown reasons, the CHP said he went off the road while making a turn and hit a dirt embankment.

The man died of his injuries at the scene. The CHP said the crash is still under investigation.

PREVIOUS STORY: The California Highway Patrol confirms to KION they are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash on Highway 9 near Glengarry Road.

CHP described it as a solo motorcycle collision that took place around 6:50 a.m. Tuesday morning.

At this time there are no expected closures on that stretch of road.

No additional details have been provided as CHP says this is early on in their investigation.
