Driver killed in head-on collision on Highway 152
UPDATE 9/19/2019 11:00 a.m. A 27-year-old man died at the scene of a head-on crash on State Route 152 Wednesday morning.
The crash happened east of Lake Road and west of Lover’s Lane just before 8 a.m. The driver of a Ford traveling westbound crossed over the solid double yellow lines and hit a Toyota traveling eastbound head-on.
The CHP said witnesses stopped to help at the scene, but the driver of the Toyota died at the scene. His 27-year-old male passenger was taken to San Jose Regional Hospital with major injuries. The driver of the Ford was also taken to the hospital with major injuries.
State Route 152 between Lover’s Lane and Bloomfield Avenue was closed for about four hours.
The CHP is still investigating whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.
UPDATE 9/18/2019 3:15 p.m. The California Highway Patrol is investigating a head-on collision that killed one person Wednesday morning.
The crash happened west of Lover’s Lane on Highway 152 just before 8 a.m. The CHP said it appears a Ford Explorer crossed lane lines into traffic going the opposite direction and hit a Toyota Tacoma head-on.
The driver of the Tacoma died and a passenger suffered major injuries. The driver of the Ford Explorer also suffered major injuries.
The crash is still under investigation, and officers are still investigating whether drugs or alcohol were factors.
