Beach advisory lifted at Monterey Municipal Beach

UPDATE 9/13/2019 1:20 p.m. The Monterey County Health Department announced that the beach advisory at Monterey Municipal Beach has been lifted.

PREVIOUS STORY: Monterey Municipal Beach is under a beach advisory after high bacteria levels were found in samples taken on Monday.

The beach will be under advisory until samples show the bacteria has returned to a safe level. The Monterey County Health Department said high bacteria levels are associated with a higher risk of illness.
