Sand City police arrest two people found with 17 stolen driver’s licenses, forged prescriptions

Two people after Sand City police said they were found with 17 stolen driver’s licenses, forged prescriptions and drugs.

On Sunday, Officers said Jonathan Chavez did not yield and nearly hit a Sand City police patrol car. The officer conducted a traffic stop.

While investigating, officers found forged medical scripts, several types of drugs, social security numbers, fraudulent prescription refill and receipt documentation and 17 stolen driver’s licenses.

Police said Chavez and his passenger, Danielle Hernandez, admitted to using forged medical scripts and identities of victims to buy drugs.

Both were booked into the Monterey County Jail.
