Stabbing in Santa Cruz, one person in hospital

One man is in the hospital after a stabbing in Santa Cruz along the San Lorenzo River levee Monday night at approximately 9:11.

Santa Cruz Police say one man suffering multiple stab wounds was found near the levee and Soquel Avenue. He was taken to an out of county hospital for treatment. He is expected to live despite multiple stab wounds.

Police say the suspect, 64 -year old Nick Mennick, took off from the scene but was found near Seabright Avenue and Murray Street.

Investigators are asking anyone with a home or business surveillance system in the area to check their footage to see there is any video that could help in the investigation.
