Two men arrested on gun charges in Hollister
Two men are behind bars after Hollister police said they were found with guns.
On Friday at around 10:37 p.m., an officer stopped a car near San Benito Street and Fourth Street for a traffic violation.
Inside the car were 29-year-old Jorge Ivan Jaramillo Regalado, of Salinas, and 30-year-old Daniel Cortez Arango, of Hollister. The officer found out that Regalado was on probation for drug and gun violations, and he recognized him as someone arrested earlier this year for gun possession.
During the investigation, the officer said he found a loaded handgun in the car that was accessible to the driver and passenger. The officer said he also found extra ammunition and drug paraphernalia on Regalado.
Regalado was arrested and charged with carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle, carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle with a prior felony conviction, unlawful possession of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon while not being the owner, felon in possession of ammunition and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Arando was arrested and charged with carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle.
