Salinas man accused of attacking elderly man appears in court

Moises Hernandez, a Salinas man accused of attacking an elderly man, made his first court appearance Friday.

Hernandez was ordered to have no contact with the victim, and his preliminary hearing is set for Tuesday. His bail is set at $160,000.

Police said Hernandez attacked an 89-year-old man as he walked home from church in the area around Williams Road and Bardin Way. His mother and father were also arrested for allegedly trying to prevent their son’s arrest.
