Salinas Police Violence Suppression Task Force arrests eight gang members

Eight gang members are behind bars after being busted by the Violence Suppression Task Force in Salinas.

According to Salinas Police, officers got reports of a possible gang-related party in the area of Calle Cebu Sunday night.

VSTF officers then saw several gang members drinking, smoking weed in public, and showing off their tattoos while people nearby were trying to enjoy the carnival.

Officers then noted shot spotter activity in the same area and after that, saw several gang members go into a home.

Two people who were on felony gang probation were inside. VSTF and patrol officers surrounded the house and eight gang members were taken into custody. Officers also recovered a gun.

Those arrested include 29-year-old Jorge Izquierdo, 20-year-old Oscar Benitez, 25-year-old Richard Izquierdo, 20-year-old Jordan Daiz, 29-year-old Ezequel Sandoval, 31-year-old Michael Ramos, 31-year-old Adrian Jimenez and 20-year-old Gustavo Garcia.
