Two people killed in overnight crash on Highway 101
UPDATE 7/22/2019 9:45 a.m. Two people have died as a result of a crash that happened on Highway 101 north of Hudson Road late Sunday night.
The CHP says the 71-year-old driver of a Honda Odyssey was driving southbound in the northbound lane of the highway for unknown reasons just before midnight.
The Honda then hit a Nissan Rogue that was going northbound. After that crash, a Ford Fusion hit the Honda, and at the same time a tractor hit the Nissan. The Ford and tractor then continued further north and hit each other. At that point, all of the vehicles came to a stop.
The Salinas man driving the Honda died of his injuries, and the 38-year-old San Jose woman driving the Nissan also died. The 39-year-old male passenger of the Nissan had major injuries and two juveniles in the car were taken to the hospital.
The 18-year-old male driver of the Ford and his 46-year-old female passenger from Folsom had minor injuries. The 24-year-old male driver of the tractor from Apple Valley was not injured.

The crash happened in Greenfield near Hudson Road on northbound Highway 101.
The California Highway Patrol confirmed at least one person died in the crash. Multiple patients were taken to Central Coast hospitals.
The CHP is investigating the crash and will give more information as it becomes available.
