More concerns raised over Monterey County ambulance contract proposal

The debate continues over the controversial contract proposal for the new ambulance provider in Monterey County.

Friday, the County Emergency Medical Care Committee hosted a special meeting for stakeholders and the public to share their concerns over the next RFP or contract proposal.

“This is life changing issues we’re talking about, so that’s what we really need we need more legitimate public input. This was a good start, but we need more of this,” Sean Edwards with Cal Fire said.

Firefighters from around the county called for changes to the contract and want more input in the decision.

“we’re going to make some decisions internally based on what we heard today probably take a couple weeks to do that but we do plan on moving forward” MICHAEL PETRIE / MOCO EMS DIRECTOR

In May, Monterey County rejected its lone bid forcing them to come up with a new RFP.
