1,600 acre Fort Hunter Liggett fire started by training activities
UPDATE 7/18/2019 4:15 p.m. The Fort Hunter Liggett Fire Department responded to a vegetation fire that started Tuesday afternoon. They say it was started by training activities off Nacimiento-Ferguson Road.
It was contained at 1,600 acres at 3 a.m., and Cal Fire and Los Padres National Forest firefighters assisted in containing it.
PREVIOUS STORY: An overnight fire near Fort Hunter Liggett was contained at 1,600 acres early Wednesday morning.
The vegetation fire started of the Nacimiento Ferguson Roads Tuesday night. Fort Hunter Liggett, Cal Fire and the Los Padres Forest firefighters responded, and it was contained at around 3 a.m.
Fort Hunter Liggett said smoke may be visible in the area throughout the day.
