Body found near Pfeiffer Beach in Big Sur
UPDATE 7/16/2019 3:45 p.m. The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office says the body of a woman in her late 50’s or early 60’s wearing a blue swimsuit was found at Pfeiffer Beach.
The body was found at Pfeiffer Beach about a quarter mile north of the parking lot.
The Monterey County Coroner’s Office has taken over the case. Big Sur Fire helped with extrication.
PREVIOUS STORY: The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a body was found near Pfeiffer Beach.
The Search and Rescue Team was called to the area after someone walked out of the ocean and saw the body.
A coroner unit has gone to the scene. The Sheriff’s Office said it is not related to an incident near the Big Sur River Inn Monday night.
