One person shot and killed in Salinas
UPDATE: Salinas Police are investigating a fatal shooting in the Chinatown area.
Police responded reports of a shooting at Market Way and Soledad Street Thursday night at around 7:55 p.m.
When they arrived they located a 37-year-old man on the south side of Market Way near the railroad tracks suffering from a gunshot wound.
Medical responders said the victim died at the scene.
Initial reports from police said the victim was white, however the most recent press release says the victim is a Hispanic male.
The victim has been identified, however his identity is being withheld by police until family has been notified.
Police say so far witnesses have not been cooperative with investigators. They do not have a suspect at this time or description of one.

One person is dead after a shooting in Salinas Thursday night.
According to Salinas Police, officers got reports of gunshots around 7:55 p.m. on East Market and Soledad Streets in Chinatown.
Police said initially the victim was a white man in his 30s or 40s. They don’t have any information on his identity at this time or any suspect information.
There is no information on a motive.
Police are still investigating.
