Chevron Soccer Academy holding training for youth with former pros, including Brandi Chastain

The Chevron Soccer Academy is holding soccer training for youth at Cal State Monterey Bay with former professional soccer players, including Brandi Chastain.

Around 300 boys and girls from Salinas will get training from professional coaches and get the chance to see what it takes to play high-level soccer with former and current professionals.

On Friday and Saturday, Brandi Chastain will be making an appearance. She is a two-time FIFA Women’s World Cup champion, two-time Olympic gold-medalist, coach and sports broadcaster. There will also be current San Jose Earthquakes players.

The kids will also get the chance to learn more about science, technology, engineering and math through the science of soccer.

The event runs through Sunday.
