Summit Store in the Santa Cruz Mountains burglarized
The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office is looking for three suspects involved in a burglary at the Summit Store on Summit Rd. early Monday morning.
Surveillance video from inside shows three men scrambling through the store grabbing alcohol, cigarettes and pulling a cash register out from behind one of the counters.
The general manager of the Summit Store, Ben Abeln, got a call around 2:30 a.m. alerting him there was movement from inside the store.
He lives right around the corner and says when he ran down to see what happened, he saw several suspects get into a dark colored, newer SUV and drive off.
The Sheriff’s Office is hoping someone in the community will recognize the suspects.
Abeln said they are offering a $500 reward for anyone with information on the suspects leading to an arrest.
He also said they are getting more surveillance cameras for outside the store and more locks.
Anyone with information is being asked to call Detective Mejia (831)454-7096.
