Hollister police investigating two attempted armed robberies
Hollister police are asking for the public’s help in identifying suspects in two attempted armed robberies.
Police say the robberies both occurred the night of the Fourth of July less than 2 miles away from each other.
In the first incident, police say the victim was walking home on Nash Rd. when a suspect got out of a white sedan and demanded his wallet.
The victim told KION the suspect yelled expletives at him and shot him with what is believed to be an air soft or pellet gun that looked like a pistol.
The victim said he refused to give the suspect anything. The victim said the suspect got back into the car and fled after shooting the victim twice.
The victim said he called police immediately and spent close to five hours in a hospital for treatment of his injuries.
About 30 minutes later, another similar incident was reported just a mile away on Memorial Drive.
The suspect in both cases is described as a Hispanic male in his 20s wearing a baseball cap and a long-sleeve dark-colored shirt.
