Monterey County deputies find child’s stolen John Deere pedal-tractor

A John Deere pedal-tractor is back with its owner after it was stolen Saturday afternoon.

A witness saw two people take a child’s pedal-tractor from the end of a driveway and notified the owner. The witness was able to give the color, make, model and license plate number of the suspect’s car to the owner, who then reported the theft to the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office.

Using the information from the witness, deputies found the registered owner of the vehicle, and then were led to one of the people who took the tractor. When deputies contacted the suspect, they returned it to the owner.
