Two arrested for tagging in King City
Two men have been arrested in King City after police say they were caught vandalizing a bridge.
King City Police say a witness reported seeing a man tag the bridge near railroad tracks in the area of Gill’s Onions near Lonoak Road.
Police say when they got there, two men ran off on foot from the east side of the bridge toward the 400 block of Jayne street.
After a short pursuit, King City Police say they captured Lance Joseph Barr. The second suspect, who they later identified as Ryan Alan Baca, tried to run into a river bottom and was eventually captured by police.
Barr’s vehicle was located near the scene of the crime. Police say they found an extremely large amount of aerosol paint cans, paint rollers and gallons of paint, markers, and other artwork items they say are commonly used by tagging crews to commit tagging graffiti.
Police also say both suspects also had fresh paint on their hands and clothes.
The damages were valued at over $500.00 by King City Public Works Department.
Barr and Baca were placed into custody at the Monterey County Jail.
King City Police say the investigation is continuing, anyone any more information is asked to call them at (831) 386-5980 or the WeTip line at 1-800-78-CRIME. Your call may remain completely anonymous.
