Marina police looking for man wanted on two arrest warrants

Marina police are looking for a man who is wanted on two warrants as well as suspicion of fleeing from an officer and theft.

The suspect is 35-year-old Joseph Wineman. Police say he is homeless and usually rides a bike through parts of Monterey County that include Salinas, Marina and the entire Monterey Peninsula.

Wineman has two warrants out for his arrest. He was arrested in May and charged with possession of controlled substances, driving with a suspended license and driving without an ignition interlock device. Police say one of the warrants is because he did not appear for charges.

Officers say the other arrest warrant is related to a theft in Marina. The day after the theft, officers found Wineman and tried to stop him, but they say he ran and got away.

Wineman is described as a white man. He is 6 feet tall and 220 pounds with brown hair and green eyes. Police say he recently had a beard but may have shaved it off.
